Wheres a 12 year old when you need one

In September my wife and I had the pleasure of attending the Winexpert Conference 2009, held at the River Rock Casino. This is a great venue but those funny machines can sure eat up coins. Saturday night was spent socializing and learning about the 2009 Limited Edition wines. This year is the 20th Anniversary and Winexpert has chosen to re-release 5 of the best from the last 5 years. I must say these are some of the most requested wines and wines our customers wish were available all the time(hint,hint). For those of you who have made the Limited Editions for many years, you will be quite aware of the wines and I am sure chomping at the bit to add them to your cellar.

Sunday was spent learning about Blogging, Tweeting, Text Messaging and everything in between that was way over my head yet quite interesting. I now have a better understanding why when you go to the theater a lot of cell phone screens are glowing. It reminds me of hiding under the covers with a flashlight and reading Playboy.I still don't know how an adult text messages with those little buttons on a cell phone. I can hit multiple keys at a time when I use my laptop. Tweeting is out of the picture because I still have to write on paper what I am going to say before I type it into the computer. I know, that's a little anal, but it's important to say it right and have proper punctuation.

I must say that I found most of the concepts quite interesting and I understand it is the communication of the future but I think my future is going to be hard enough just remembering where I am and why I went there, never mind learning new gadgets. The blog I understand and even though this is my first attempt I am looking forward to writing about anything and everything, and, hopefully somebody reads it and comments back. If not I will just ramble on for myself as I think this is good therapy.

You will notice on my website a section called Tim's Blog which not only is very entertaining but quite educational. Tim is the jack of all trades at Winexpert. If you have a question Tim can answer it and if he can't he will make something up that will dazzle even the expert. What about barometric pressure? I hope, one, that I am able to do half as well as Tim with my blog, secondly, I don't embarass myself, and thirdly, I don't insult you.

I would love to ramble on and on but I must go now as I am trying to figure out how to program telephone numbers into my cell phone. Where's a 12 year old when you need one? Take care.
